About Us
Through guided bird walks, nature walks, environmental education workshops, community science programs, and bilingual learning materials, we help people discover the living world around them, from the birds migrating through our city parks to the plants, fungi, insects, and habitats that make local ecosystems thrive.
All of our programs and materials are available in both Spanish and English, ensuring that bilingual and Spanish-speaking families feel welcome and have full access to every experience.

Our Story
Alas Latinas began with a simple belief: We are part of the natural world.
As bilingual naturalists, educators, and community organizers, we saw a need for programs that speak to both the science and the soul of nature. We wanted to create outdoor experiences where people could learn about birds and biodiversity, ask questions freely, bring their families, hear Spanish and English spoken with care, and feel that conservation is something they can be part of.
For many of us, nature is connected to memory, migration, culture, family, healing, and home. Our walks are not only about identifying species. They are about noticing seasonal change, sharing stories, learning together, and building a deeper relationship with the places we live.
That is the heart of Alas Latinas.
